I've mainly been lurking in fandom for awhile now, so since there isn't much in namespace for you to check out to find out what I like, this letter's going to be pretty detailed. First up, if you have a story that you're really itching to tell, by all means write that. A story is always more interesting to me when the writer is inspired.
Things I enjoy: women succeeding at being badasses together, women failing at being badasses together, dysfunctional women in functional relationships with each other, functional women in dysfunctional relationships with each other, messy polyamory, D/s power dynamics (especially when the dom does a lot of talking), stories set in a specific time period that really evoke that particular time period, the psychological fallout from when People Do Bad Things, unreliable narrators, endings left open to interpretation
Things I'm not a fan of: stories that don't feature any women in prominent roles (this shouldn't be a problem, given the nature of this exchange), flat characterization, BDSM that focuses more on the external acts than on the internal thought processes, character-bashing (I'd rather a character be conspicuously absent than bashed)
As to triggers and squicks - I really only have one trigger that may possibly come up, and that's around food and weight. I actually have a harder time with graphic descriptions of food than I do with issues of weight, ie. if you have characters eating, you can mention that they're taking a bite of something or whatever, but please no lovingly described adjective-laden paragraphs, thanks. Squicks: non-con, pedophilia, bestiality, incest, watersports, scat, relationships with institutionalized power differentials (ie. teacher/student, guard/prisoner), most infidelity
I didn't get a chance to put any info in my sign-up, so this is going to be long:
1. OTH Brooke/Peyton - Oh these two, these two hit two of my favorite relationship tropes in one fell swoop: Best Friends Who Fall In Love and Fighting as Foreplay and I wish there were more fic for them. I'm not really picky on when the story is set, pre-show, pre-time jump, post-time jump, post-show. I just want something about how they bring out both the best and the worst in each other. If you include other characters, please don't make Lucas an ass about them being together, or them obsessing about him. Also, the only character I really give a damn about post-jump is Millie. I can't even remember half of the newbies' names anymore. Most importantly, don't break up Nathan and Haley. You can give them OTH levels of drama, but please, keep them faithful and together.
2. Scandal Mellie/Olivia - Two awesome ladies spending all their time obsessing over a total asshole. I really, really, *really* dislike Fitz. In fact, to the point where I'm willing to relax my no character-bashing and no infidelity rule for this show. On to what I do like - both these women are so *good* at politics and so *terrible* at their personal life. I really do believe that they respect each other's intelligence and drive, and if they weren't both hung up on Fitz, they could rule the world together. Maybe now that the revelation is out, they both actually get over Fitz and Mellie embarks on her own political career, with Liv as her chief of staff, and a relationship develops. Or, jealous, angry sex is always an option as well. In terms of other characters, I really like Liv's relationship with her team, especially Huck. Also, I enjoy Cyrus and his shadiness for the greater cause.
3. Gilmore Girls: Paris/Rory, Miss Patty/Babette, Madeline/Louise - I love this world and these characters. I've felt that Paris is secretly in love with Rory since s2 and you can't convince me otherwise. Her finally declaring her love and Rory's reaction would be awesome. Also I'd like established relationship fic, especially set in the future. What are they up to now? How do Paris and Lorelai get along? How do Paris and *Emily* get along? Miss Patty and Babette are probably my two favorite townies. I imagine that they've been friends and gossip partners for years. But we haven't seen much of that relationship. Did something happen in the past? Is there something going on during the run of the show? What does Stars Hollow look like to them? I saw someone refer to Madeline and Louise as the Brittana of the early 2000s and it so fits. I'd love anything about them, during the Chilton era, what was really going on at that spring break where they made out, at their high school reunion. Again, I'd love to see their perspective on the main characters and their dramas.
4. BtVS: Kennedy/Willow, Buffy/Tara, Anya/Tara, Cordy/Buffy, Faith/Buffy - This was my first fandom and still the fandom of my heart. I could go on forever about my babies. First, there is not enough Buffy/Cordy/Faith OT3 fic out there, so if that's a thing you are interested in, please, by all the gods in the 'verse, write it! Action-adventure, porny, angst, fluff, all of the above. Anything about those three girls/women together at any point in time would make me more than happy. If that's not your style, then there's still lots of choices. These aren't all my f/f ships on the show, but they're the ones that I'm most craving fic for right now. So, if you want to include background ships that aren't listed, go for it. It's easier to list things I'd rather not be in the story - the less Spike, the better, the only Scooby that I ship Giles with is Anya, please no Dawn ships with the older people (I'm fine if you want to write her with one of the Potentials though, I actually like them), and no Willow/Buffy or Willow/Cordy. Other than that, go crazy. ETA: Crossovers with Angel would be lovely. However, I don't read the comics, and the little I do know of them, I'd rather their continuity not be used.
5. Orange is the New Black: Poussey Washington/Tasha "Taystee" Jefferson (Orange Is the New Black) Nicky Nichols/Lorna Morello Janae Watson/Yoga Jones Janae Watson/Poussey Washington Nicky Nichols/Alex Vause - This is a recent fandom, so I don't have nearly the amount of thoughts to share. I just would love more fic for these characters and relationships. I love all their stories, but I have a special fondness for Janae's. She's so quiet and reserved in relation to the rest of them. It makes me wonder what's going on in her head, and how she actually feels about where she was heading and where she wound up. Even if you write one of the other pairings, I would be very happy if you gave her a decent role in the story, if you can. It's fine if it doesn't work though. As to the rest of them, they all crack me up. I'd love a story that expands on how they use humor to cope with a pretty terrible situation. They all have such distinct voices, I'd love to hear more of them.
